Traditional ceremonies such as Manthe are regularly carried out at Argyle; visitors walk through smoke or are brushed with wet gum leaves so that the Traditional Owners can let their ancestors know that the newcomers are welcome on the land and should be protected while on site. This Manthe is the official blessing of the Argyle underground mine.
